Our competition sponsors
The Porterbrook train leasing company is marking its tenth anniversary by sponsoring The Railway Magazine 'Photographer of the Year' contest. Owned by Abbey National Treasury Services, Porterbrook owns around a third of the UK's rolling stock and has invested £1.5 billion in new trains, both passenger and freight. It leases vehicles to 18 of the UK's train operators and has won 22 of the 35 deals for new passenger trains since rail privatisation. To make this competition truly memorable, our winner will also receive the trip of a lifetime, thanks to GNER, which is marking the 25th anniversary of the introduction of HSTs on the East Coast Main Line by agreeing to give the winner one of the greatest 'adventure experiences' it is possible to get in Britain - a cab ride along the East Coast Main Line in the cab of one of these 125mph machines. Such a treat is not normally available to the public, so get those cameras out! You have until June 30 to submit that winner.
